Hannah's father was Austin Fansler and her mother was Ruth Jones. Her paternal grandparents were David Fansler and Mary Shipley; her maternal grandfather was Jones. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Charles, Stephen Huston, Thomas D., Walter D., Amanda, Margaret A., Martha M., Mary Catherine and Sarah E.. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Ransom, Samuel, Virgil and Barbara.-
