John Dykes

John was born in 1779 in , , North Carolina.  John's father was William Dykes and his mother was Susannah Lankford.  His paternal grandparents were John Dykes and Judith Lewis. He had four brothers and four sisters, named John Netherland, Isham, James, William, Mary, Priscilla, Sarah and Anna.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 79 in 1858 in , Hawkins, Tennessee.
