Ruth Dyer 
Ruth was born in 1836 in , Greene, Tennessee. Ruth's father was Abraham Dyer and her mother was Docia Coatney. Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Dyer and Ruth; her maternal grandfather was George Coatney. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named John S., George Washington, Abraham, Samuel A., William S., Solomon M., Stephen C., I. Elisa and Elizabeth. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.
