John Jacob was born on July 24th, 1782 in Frederick, Frederick County, MD. John Jacob's father was John Jakob Derner and his mother was Maria Barbara Storm. His paternal grandparents were Johann Bernhard Darner and Anna Katharina Pfuster; his maternal grandparents were John Jacob Sturm and Maria Benedicta Sauer. He was an only child. He died at the age of 37 in 1819 in Middletown, Frederick County, MD.-
