Nancy C. was born on September 10th, 1854 in , , Tennessee. Nancy C.'s father was James Wilkerson Cox and her mother was Cornelia Abbela Hood. Her paternal grandparents were James Cox and Sarah Collins. She had four brothers and three sisters, named James Knox Polk, Robert L., Rufus G., Emmons P. D., Ann, Mary and Sarah P.. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She died about 1936.-
