His paternal grandparents were Christopher Conyers and Ellene Rylleston; his maternal grandparents were Philip Darcy 6th Baron Darcy and Eleanor Fitz Hugh 3rd Lord Fitz Hugh. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Henry, Philip, Robert, William, Eleanor, Elizabeth, Joan, Margaret and Margery.-
