Cynthia was born on January 28th, 1775 in , Henry, Virginia. Cynthia's father was James J. Charles and her mother was Tabitha Senter. Her paternal grandparents were James Charles and Sarah; her maternal grandparents were Stephen Senter and Susannah Tandy. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named James, Oliver, Hiram, Stephen K., John, Joel, Solomon, Susannah, Nancy, Elizabeth and Tabitha. She was the oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 52 on September 11th, 1827 in Hawkins Co., TN.-
