Susan Byars 
Susan was born in 1838 in Washington County, Virginia. Susan's father was George Washington Byars and her mother was Ann Blessing. Her maternal grandparents were Jacob Blessing and Elizabeth Messersmith. She had four brothers and two sisters, named George Washington, James Allen, John, Thomas, Eliza Jane and Mary Ann. She was the youngest of the seven children.-
