Johnathan was born about 1812 in IN. Johnathan's father was Jeremiah POE and his mother was Hannah DOAN. His paternal grandparents were William POE and Elizabeth BRAY; his maternal grandparents were Jacob DOAN and Hannah STUPP. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Elisha, William , Jacob , Jesse , Basil , Pinckney , Ira , Susan and Hannah. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.-
