Mary Brown was born on June 10th, 1810 in Monroe Co., VA . Mary Brown's father was Tristram "Trussie" PATTON and her mother was Jane 'Jean' NELSON . Her paternal grandparents were John PATTON and Matilda Ann WIDEMAN. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named William Madison , James Nelson, Robert Miller , John J. , Thomas Beirne, Washington Lafayette, Edwin Franklin, Columbus Marion , Sidney Ewing, Elizabeth Simpson, Louisa Amelia and Nancy Nelson. She was the second oldest of the thirteen children.-
