Mary Ellen was born on November 1st, 1853 in Xenia, Greene Co., OH. Mary Ellen 's father was Nathan DOAN and her mother was Anna Elizabeth "Annie" DOWNING. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph DOAN and Eliza D. CARPENTER. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Charles Henry , Walter Joseph , Willis Gaylord , Frances Eliza , Alice Jane and Annie Elizabeth . She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jessie Pyle , George Nathan and Mary Elizabeth . She died at 3 months old on February 7th, 1854 in Xenia, Greene Co., OH.General Notes
