Benjamin was born in 1809 in Henry Co., IN . Benjamin 's father was Abel BLAND and his mother was Ann JAMES. His paternal grandparents were William BLAND and Rachel Julia WARD. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John Wesley , Preston B. , James , George Washington , Sarah , Rebecca , Elizabeth , Margaret and Mary . He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 50 in 1859 in Stamps, Lafayette Co., AR.-
