His paternal grandparents were Samuel ANDERSON and Jane King HARGIS; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Milton TATE and Catherine ANDERSON . He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Jasper Dallas , David Crockett , John Oscar , Jane King "Kate" , Mary Katherine , Vinia Ann , Abigale "Abbie" Carmichael , Daisy Beatrice , Emma Clara and Patsy Mae . He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 85 on March 27th, 1973 in South Pittsburg, Marion Co., TN .General Notes
