Luitgarda was born in 0920 in France.1 Luitgarda's father was Herbert II de Vermandois Ct de Vermandois and her mother was Adela (Hildebrante) de France. Her paternal grandparents were Herbert I de Vermandois Ct de Vermandois and Bertha de Morvois; her maternal grandparents were Robert I King of France and Beatrice de Vermandois. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Robert de Vermandois, Adelbert I the Pious, Albert I, Adele and Sprota (Adela). She was the youngest of the six children.1 -
