Pepin I de Lombardy was born in April 0773 in of Aachen, Rhineland, Germany.1 Pepin I de Lombardy's father was Charlemagne King of Franks and his mother was Hildegarde Cts de Vinzgau. His paternal grandparents were Pepin III the Short King of Franks and Bertrada Cts of Laon; his maternal grandparents were Gerold I (Childebrand) Duke of Swabia and Imma de Allemania. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Charles the Younger, Lothar, Louis I the Pious de Aquitaine, Rotrud, Adelaide, Bertha, Gisela and Hildegard. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Hugo Le Abbe, Ruothild of Faremoutiers, Hugh L' Abbe, Hiltrude, Theodrada of Argenteuil, Adaltrude and Alpais. He died in Milan, Italy.1 -
