Louis I the Pious de Aquitaine was born in 0778 in France.1   Louis I the Pious de Aquitaine's father was Charlemagne King of Franks and his mother was Hildegarde Cts de Vinzgau.  His paternal grandparents were Pepin III the Short King of Franks and Bertrada Cts of Laon; his maternal grandparents were Gerold I (Childebrand) Duke of Swabia and Imma de Allemania. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Charles the Younger, Pepin I de Lombardy, Lothar, Rotrud, Adelaide, Bertha, Gisela and Hildegard. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Hugo Le Abbe, Ruothild of Faremoutiers, Hugh L' Abbe, Hiltrude, Theodrada of Argenteuil, Adaltrude and Alpais.  He died in Ingolheim.1
