Emma was born in 1033 in France.1 Emma's father was Herluin de Conteville Vct de Conteville and her mother was Herleva (Arlette) de Falaise. Her paternal grandfather was John de Bourg de Tonsburgh Earl of Comyn; her maternal grandparents were Fulbert the Tanner de Falaise and Duxia de Falaise. She had a brother named Robert de Burgo de Mortaigne. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William I the Conqueror and Adeliza de Normandy.General Notes
