Rachel was born in 1737 in , Cape May, NJ.1 Rachel's father was John Willets and her mother was Martha Corson. Her maternal grandparents were Jan Karsten Corson and Mary Elias Daws. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Jacob, Isaac, Sarah, Mercy and Hannah. She was the youngest of the seven children.-
