Her maternal grandparents were William Thomas Beggs and Margaret Jane Hess. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Arnold Russell, Bazil Cecil, William Gordon, Donald Clifford, David Roy, Lyle Harold, Orville Howard, Living, Ruby Beatrice Marguerite, Edith Eleanor May and Lillian Velma.-
