Robert was born about 1810 in near Ballyclare, Antrim, Northern Ireland. Robert's father was Robert Beggs and his mother was Sarah Whiteford. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, Hugh, Margaret, Sarah, Mary Ellen and Jane. He died on November 28th, 1899 in Mountain, Dundas, Ontario, Canada. He was buried in South Gower Cemetery, South Gower, Grenville, Ontario, Canada.-
