His paternal grandparents were Robert Beggs and Janet (Jennie) Magee; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Storey and Jane Hogg. He had two brothers and a sister, named Benjamin James, William Samuel and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Bertha. He died in Shakopee, Scott, MN. He was buried in Shakopee, Scott, MN.-
