MISS EMMA SEASE
Funeral Services at Mt. Horeb Church Today
Miss Emma Elizabeth Sease, 63 years of age, died last night at the home
of her nephew, James E. Garner, 1014 Whaley Street, with whom she had
made her home for some time.
Miss Sease was well known and leaves numerous friends in this city and
other parts of the state who will learn with genuine sadness of her
passing. She was a Christian woman of the highest type, her lovable
character and gentle disposition endearing her to all who knew her.
Miss Sease had for four years lived in Columbia and had made her home
with Mr. and Mrs. Gardner and other relatives in this city. She was a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noah Sease of Chapin, where she had
made her home for many years before coming to Columbia.
Surviving Miss Sease are five sisters, Mrs. J.L. Lucas of Columbia, Mrs.
J.R. Summer and Mrs. Joseph W. Wessenger of Chapin, Mrs. J. Walter Frick
of Little Mountain, Mrs. M.M. Addison of Newberry, and three brothers,
J.A. Sease of Prosperity, N.Z. Sease and G.E. Sease of Columbia. Several
nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 5 o'clock at Mt. Horeb
Lutheran Church, of which Miss Sease had long been a devoted member. The
services will be conducted by the Rev. J.M. Senter, her pastor, and the
Rev. M.O.J. Kreps, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Those who have
been asked to serve as pallbearers are: Edward Webb, Kenneth Kreps, Gary
Paschal, Fred Spigner, H.A. Neel and J.H. Nichols.

M.O.J. Kreps, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Before coming to Columbia, where she has been making her home with

Chapin. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noah Sease of
Chapin. She was widely known as a woman of fine character.
