Christian Christopher was born on January 9th, 1756 in Dormstadt, , Hessen, Germany and his baptism took place on January 15th, 1756 in St. Vincenez, Schöningen, Brunswick, Lower Saxony, Thüringia.1 2   Christian Christopher's father was Andreas Bertram Kniep and his mother was Catherine Dorothea Ebers.  His paternal grandfather was Johann Conrad Kniep.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 69 on September 30th, 1825 in Lukin, Lawrence, Illinois, USA.  He was buried before September 30th, 1825 in Lukin Twp., Lawrence, Illinois.1
