Ruby Lavina Spinney

Ruby was born in 1857. Ruby's father was Harding Theodore Spinney and her mother was Helen F. Berteaux. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Beach Spinney and Ann G. Crocker; her maternal grandparents are James Barteaux and Parney Wheelock. She had two brothers and three sisters, named James, Ingram, Anna, Parnie and Rowena. She was the oldest of the six children.

General Notes
- Bear River, Nova Scotia, January 4, 1938:
  There passed away at her home here Saturday evening, Mrs. Ruby (Spinney) Benson 80, widow of Albert Benson, after a short illness. Mrs. Benson was born at Greenwood, Annapolis County, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harding Spinney. She married, when young, and came as a bride to this town where she has since resided. She was a member of the United Baptist Church, and is survived by one son, Harding Benson, and one grand-daughter, Mrs. Vernon Harris, both linving at Bear River. The funeral was held from her late home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G. D. Brydon, assisted by Rev. C. P. Henderson. Interment was in Mount Hope.
