Celia was born in 1855.  Celia's father was John Harmon and her mother was Ann E. Spinney.  Her maternal grandparents were Ebenezer Spinney and Temperance A. Hodgeson. She had eight brothers and four sisters, named John, Charles, Frank, Simon, Edward, William, Wallace, Frank, Eliza, Lillian, Mary and Mary.  She was the fourth oldest of the thirteen children.
