Matilda Catherine Noel 
Matilda was born in 1858. Matilda's father was Edward Andrew Noel and her mother was Sarah Gay Forbes Darwin. Her maternal grandparents were William Brown Darwin and Elizabeth de St Croix . She had five brothers and two sisters, named William, Francis, Robert, James , Cecil, Eleanor and Anne. She died at the age of 65 on May 12th, 1923.General Notes
Colonel John Charles Griffith married Matilda on 19 September 1893.1 He died on 11 November 1934.
Colonel John Charles Griffith gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment.1 He was decorated with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.). He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.). He lived at Deanwood House, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
