Mary was born about 1727 in Elton, Nottinghamshire, , England and her baptism took place about 1727 in Of Elton, Nottingham, England.  Mary's father was Jonathan BURROWS and her mother was Ann WARRINER.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard BURROWS and Elizabeth BAULDOR. She had four brothers and a sister, named John, Richard, William, Robert and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the six children.
