Isabella, known as Belle, was born in 1882 in Simmering, Austria.  Belle's father was George David Dobbie Forbes and her mother was Mary Jane Cuthbert.  Her paternal grandparents were David Forbes and Mary Dobbie. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Charles, William, <Unknown>, <Unknown>, Georgina and <Unknown>.
