József was born on August 9th, 1803 in Beled. József's father was János Gottlieb Thiering and his mother was Anna Rozina Bauer.  His paternal grandparents were Gottlieb Thiering and Anna Rozália Müller. He had five brothers named Lajos, Károly, Lajos, József and Katalin.  He was the youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 80 on January 25th, 1884 in Beled Sopron vm.1
