Imre's father was Imre Körtvélyesi and his mother was Mária Dankó.  His paternal grandparents were Mihály Körtvélyesi and Zsuzsanna Miklós. He had a brother and two sisters, named Mária, Mária and Mária.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 67 in 1963.¹
