Gyula's father was Gyula Körtvélyesi and his mother was Julianna Szabó.  His paternal grandparents were <Unknown> and Terézia Körtvélyesi. He had eight brothers and six sisters, named Gyula, Gyula, Antal, Antal, Lajos, Gyua, Antal, József, Mária, Julianna, Eszter, Zsuzsanna, Erzsébet and Ilona.  He was the second youngest of the fifteen children.  He died at the age of 68 on December 5th, 1974 in Budapest XI. ker..
