Erzsébet was born on April 17th, 1817 in Nagy Rozvány Szlovákia.¹

Erzsébet's father was János Körtvélyessy and her mother was Erzsébet Tóth. She had six brothers and three sisters, named János, András, János, István, Ferenc, József, Zsuzsanna, Mária and Barbara.  She was the third oldest of the ten children.
