Béla's mother was Terézia Körtvélyesi.  His maternal grandparents were Mihály Körtvélyesi and Jozefin Görög. He had two sisters named Aranka and Sarolta.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died by commiting suicide, heveny nikotinmérgezés, at the age of 73 on February 27th, 1980 in Budapest XVIII..²
