    2Obituary. "Bert Rumpel passed away peacefully at Grey Nuns' Hospital in Edmonton on October 14, 1994, after a lengthy illness. Bert is survived by his wife Gladys' two daughters, Sally and husband Eldon Evenson of Edmonton and Shirley and husband Greg Cameron of Ottawa; one son Fred of Oakville, Ontario; grandchildren Murray, Richell, Andrew and Brianna; one sister Caroline Pachal of Edmonton, and one brother Ed Rumpel of Vancouver. Bert was predeceased by his parents Karl and Annie, sisters Norma and Florence and brothers John and Carl. He will be missed by a host of friends and relatives including one aunt, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bert purchased the B.A. service station in Archerwill in 1951. He, Gladys and their three children enjoyed family life in Archerwill. Bert enjoyed 17 years operating Rumpel's Service, "the best service in town". After leaving Archerwill, Bert and Gladys enjoyed living in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Kelowna, B.C. and finally Edmonton. A remembrance service was held on Oct. 17 at the Southside Memorial Chapel with Rev. A. Rapske officiating. Interment was in the family plot at the Baptist Cemetery in Balgonie, Sask. on Oct. 18 with Rev. D. Sauer officiating." Contributed by Eileen Jameson.
    3Obituary. "RUMPEL - Andreas Berthold. On October 14th, 1994, Andreas Berthold Rumpel passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. Bert was born on January 19th, 1914 to Annie (Switzer) and Karl Rumpel on the family farm outside of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladys; two daughters, Sally and husband, Eldon Evenson of Edmonton, Shirley and husband, Greg Cameron of Ottawa, Ontario; one son Fred of Oakville, Ontario; four grandchildren, Murray, Richell, Andrew and Brianna; one sister, Caroline Pachal of Edmonton; one brother, Ed Rumpel of Vancouver, B.C. and one sister-in-law, Elsie Brownie of Vancouver, B.C. He will be missed by a host of friends and relatives including an aunt, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bert was predeceased by his parents, Karl and Annie; brothers Carl and John; sisters Norma and Florence and one brother-in-law, Jim Brownie. A memorial service will be held at the South Side Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
