Maria was born on August 14th, 1799.  Maria's father was Jan Siman and her mother was Catherine Kovacs.  Her paternal grandfather was Mathew Siman and her paternal grandmother is Dorothea Galik; her maternal grandparents are Mathew Kovacs and Maria Kovacs. She had two brothers and a sister, named Stephan, Jan and Catherine.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
