Jan was born in June 1829.  Jan's father was George Siman and his mother was Helena Terek.  His paternal grandfather was Mathew Siman and his paternal grandmother is Dorothea Galik. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Michael, Andrew, George, Maria and Anna.  He was the youngest of the six children. He had two half-brothers named Sebefranius and Mathew.  He died at the age of 6 on February 11th, 1836.
