Reuben was born in 1882 in Salford, Lancashire, UK.1   Reuben's father is Charles CROOK and his mother was Eliza HOLLOWS.  His paternal grandparents are Francis CROOK and Hannah RHOADES. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Lydia, Emma and Mary Eliza.  He is the youngest of the six children.
