Lydia was born in 1867 in Salford, Lancashire, UK.1   Lydia's father is Charles CROOK and her mother was Eliza HOLLOWS.  Her paternal grandparents are Francis CROOK and Hannah RHOADES. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Reuben, Emma and Mary Eliza.  She is the oldest of the six children.
