Emigdio was born on July 28th, 1948 in San José de Guaribe.  Emigdio's father was Hector Segundo Rojas Espinoza and his mother was Adina Barrios Gonzalez.  His paternal grandparents are Cruz Magin Rojas Armas and Carmen Blasina Espinoza Armas; his maternal grandparents were Pedro Genaro Barrios Sifontes and Ines Maria Gonzalez. He had a brother and a sister, named Hernan and Elsa. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Rafael, Ligia, Carmen and Trina.  He died at the age of 61 on September 16th, 2009 in Caracas.
