Joseph was born on March 17th, 1625 in Azcoitia, Guipuzcoa, España.  Joseph's father is Pedro Ortíz De Zarauz y Gamboa and his mother is Ana De Andunaegui Jausoro Lili y Balda.  His paternal grandfather is Francisco Buquer de Barton and his paternal grandmother was Mariana De Zarauz y Gamboa; his maternal grandfather was Francisco De Andunaegui and his maternal grandmother is Maria Ortiz de Jausoro Lili y Balda. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Joan, Ygnacio Angelo, Pedro, Martin, Mateo, Francisco, Maria, Clara, Cathalina, Juana, Antonia and Josefa.  He died at the age of 21 on October 28th, 1646 in Azcoitia, Guipuzcoa, España.
