José Gregorio was born on May 9th, 1880 in Clarines.  José Gregorio's father was Casimiro Chacin Espinoza and his mother was Aurelia Bustillos.  His paternal grandfather is Gennis Chacin Otero and his paternal grandmother was Gertrudis Espinoza Bustillos; his maternal grandparents were Manuel Garcia Albornoz and Ana Bustillos Romero. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Paulino, Renato and Aurora.  He died at the age of 92 on July 26th, 1972 in Maturin.
