Edward Albert was born on May 5th, 1866 in West Branch River Phillip, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Edward Albert's father was Stephen Taylor and his mother was Sarah Jane Higgs.  His maternal grandparents were Edward Higgs and Annie Jane Schurman. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph Hibbert, James Havelock, Howard, Douglas, Frederick, Jane Elizabeth, Catherine O., Emma B. and Hazel.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 100 in 1966.
