John Holcomb

John was born on July 4th, 1711 in Simsbury, Hartford, CT.¹ John's father was Jonathan Holcombe and his mother was Anna Anne Ann Pettibone. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Holcombe and Mary Bliss; his maternal grandparents were John Pettibone and Sarah Eggleston. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Asahel, Moses, Seaver, Benjamin, Ann, Dinah, Ruth, Damaris, Sarah, Esther, Martha and Miriam. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Persis, Jonathan, Deacon Azariah, Azariah, Jacob, Elizabeth, Mercy and Marcey. He died at the age of 85 on April 22nd, 1797 in Rupert, Bennington, VT.¹
