Marietta, known as Mary, was born about 1870 in Bridgeport, Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.1   Mary's father was Eli Minerd and her mother was Mary Ann Baer (Minerd).  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Minerd Jr and Catherine Younkin (Minerd); her maternal grandparents were Baer and (Baer). She had three brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, Charles, William, Emma, Mattie and Maggie.  She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.  She died on August 8th, 1912 in Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.  She was buried at the GreenLick Cemetery, Bullskin township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA.1 2

Mary and Lewis were married in a religious & civil ceremony on February 15th, 1887 in Scottdale, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.1  They had three sons and five daughters, and also a child of unknown gender, named Lloyd, James, Richard, Lucinda, Mattie, Alice, Francis, Martha and Eathol.
