Emma was born about July 1856 in Fayette City, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA.1  Emma's father was Eli Minerd and her mother was Mary Ann Baer (Minerd).  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Minerd Jr and Catherine Younkin (Minerd); her maternal grandparents were Baer and (Baer). She had three brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, Charles, William, Mattie, Mary and Maggie.  She was the oldest of the seven children.  She died on March 24th, 1919 in Cemetery Avenue, Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.  She was buried in 1919 in Alverton Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, USA.2 2

Emma and Charles were married in a religious & civil ceremony in 1876.3  They had three sons and seven daughters, named Alvin, Homer, Loren, Annie, Nellie, Maggie, Jessie, Viola, Myrtle and Ruby.
