Pearl was born on November 26th, 1922 in Norfolk, VA. Pearl's father was Harry Sedgwick Reynolds and her mother was Renee Marie Josephine Poisbeau. Her paternal grandparents were Lewis(Levi) Ethan Reynolds and Willemina Drier; her maternal grandparents were Henry Noel Joseph Poisbeau and Pauline Marie Fleury. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Harry, Robert, Malcom, Theadore, Walter, Renee, Alice and Rose. She is the second oldest of the nine children.
