Aleš was born in 1409.  Aleš's father was Pavlík Sovince, ze and his mother is Kateøina Kunštátu, z.  His paternal grandfather was Vok Sovince, ze and his paternal grandmother is Anežka Otaslavic, z. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Jan "Ješek", Pavel, Petr, Proèek, Vok, Heralt, Dorota and Kateøina.  He was the fourth youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 9 in 1418.
