Karl August was born on April 9th, 1868 in Praha.  Karl August's father was August Picot de Peccaduc and his mother was Marie Czerninová z Chudenic.  His maternal grandparents are Ottokar Czernin z Chudenic and Rosina Colloredo-Wallsee. He had two brothers and a sister, named Ottokar, Leonhard and Natalie.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 66 on February 14th, 1935 in Dubí.
