Pavel Klemens Lothar was born on October 14th, 1834 in Wien.  Pavel Klemens Lothar's father was Klemens Wenzel Nepomuk Lothar Metternich von Winneburg and his mother was Melania Antonia Zichy-Ferraris zu Zich und Vásonykeö.  His paternal grandparents were František Jiøí Karel Josef Jan Nepomuk Metternich-Winnenburg-Beilstein, von and Maria Beatrix Antonie Aloisie Kagenegg, von. He had a brother and a sister, named Lothar Klement and Melanie Marie Pauline.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named František Karel Jan Jiøí, Klemens Eduard, František Karel Viktor, Richard Klemens Josef Lothar Hermann, Marie Leopoldina, Klementina Marie Oktavie, Leontine Pauline and Henrieta Gabriela.  He died at the age of 71 on February 6th, 1906 in Wien.
