Briant was born in 1284. Briant's father was Jean I. Dreux, de and her mother was Eustache Chabot. Her paternal grandparents were Olivier Dreux, de and Marquise "Amicie" Coche, de. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Girard I., Jean, Guillaume, Raoul, Louise, Dreux, de and Isabelle. She was the second youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 66 in 1350.
